Elayna Schnoebelen (Layni), Soprano
​2026-2027

Elayna (or Layni) is a rising senior at Churchland High School. She has sung in choirs all her life, since she was three years old, and enjoys playing the piano. 

Layni says that she enjoys the "family that is built in choir. It is so fun getting to know everyone and singing with them." She has particularly enjoyed the opportunity to perform with the All-Virginia Chorus as a student. 

Layni has three favorite songs: "Jealous" by Labrinth, "Blackbird" by The Beatles, and "Who Knows" by Daniel Caesar.

After graduation, Layni hopes to become a music educator. In her spare time, she enjoys reading. 

Bria Moss, Alto/Tenor
​2026-2027

Bria is a rising senior at Churchland High School. She has participated in school choirs since middle school, and she enjoys playing the piano. 

Bria says she enjoys "meeting new people and when people come together in music, like a little family." One of her favorite accomplishments was being selected as an alternate for All-State Choir and receiving a perfect sight-reading score!

Like many of her peers, Bria doesn't have just one favorite song. Her top three are "Do I Wanna Know?" as covered by Hozier, "Orbiter" by Noah Kahan, and "Linger" by the Cranberries.

After graduation, Bria hopes to become a music educator.

Fun fact about Bria: She was a cheerleader beginning in elementary school, but eventually dropped the sport to accomplish more with music. 

Stephen Miller, Tenor
2026-2027

Stephen is a sophomore at Tidewater Community College, where he studies Trumpet performance. Next fall, Stephen plans to attend CNU to continue his musical studies.

William Marquis, Bass
​2023-2026

William and his mom, Jennifer, joined Churchland Baptist in 2025 after serving together in the choir for over three years.  At the time, William did not expect to receive a scholarship; however,  we are proud to acknowledge him as the FIRST official recipient of the Maurice-Dennis Music Scholarship after faithfully participating in our music ministry. 

William graduated from Deep Creek High School in 2026, where he attended the Academy of Science and Medicine and participated in the school's choral program. Before that, William attended Western Branch Middle, where he sang with our very own Kyle Cook and participated in the school's musical theater program. His favorite accomplishment during high school was participating in the VMEA Senior Honor Choir.

William will be attending the University of Virginia beginning August 2027 and is not certain which career path he'll follow... but we'll keep you posted :) 

Besides not liking potatoes, William's fun fact is that his favorite band is Pink Floyd!
